Overview

Jordan's Furniture, the premier furniture and mattress retailer in New England and a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, is seeking an Executive Assistant to our CEO. This newly created position will act as a liaison between the CEO and senior management. The successful candidate must have a proven track record of effective project management skills, strong initiative, and the ability to work independently.  This position is based at our corporate offices in East Taunton, MA, but may require travel to store locations.  We offer a flexible hybrid work schedule. 

Responsibilities

  • Acts as liaison with senior-level employees, store management and external contacts to ensure and execute corporate/departmental objectives.
  • Handles all correspondence on behalf of CEO; researches, prioritizes, and follows up on incoming issues and questions including those of a confidential, sensitive nature.
  • Independently performs special projects that require a combined knowledge of administrative skills and technical operations.
  • Determines appropriate course of action or response to questions and successfully completes with a hands-on approach.
  • Responds to a wide variety of requests for information, policies, and procedures; prioritizes, analyzes, and determines appropriate response and follow through.
  • Arranges and coordinates meetings, events, and travel for leadership. Ensures content and data for meetings are available (PowerPoint presentations, monthly reporting, Excel spreadsheets equipment).
  • Tracks key operational metrics for CEO. Organizes and compiles data, researches facts and historical data and coordinates the information for presentation.
  • Manages special projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • 5 - 7 plus years of administrative experience supporting senior management; previous experience in the retail industry preferred
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and operate with a high sense of urgency
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively with all levels of employees and external clients.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, anticipate needs, propose solutions, and exercise good judgment
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, including report writing, presentations, email correspondence
  • Strong time management skills, project management skills and demonstrated ability to meet project deadlines
  • Effective organization and prioritization skills, attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Office and SharePoint /MS365
