Overview

The Director of IT Infrastructure is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the company's IT infrastructure, including networks, data centers, cloud environments, and enterprise systems. This leadership role ensures the stability, security, scalability, and efficiency of all IT infrastructure while driving innovation and aligning technology with business objectives. This hybrid position is located in Dedham, MA.

Responsibilities

What you'll do:

  • Develops and executes a comprehensive IT infrastructure strategy, aligning with business objectives and technology advancements.
  • Oversees and actively guides the team managing IT infrastructure operations, including wide area and local area networks, firewalls, switches, servers, databases, endpoints, and backup solutions, ensuring high availability, reliability, and scalability to support business operations.
  • Leads the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure; proactively analyzes system demands and recommends upgrades, expansions, and optimizations for peak performance.
  • Establishes performance monitoring, capacity planning, and system optimization frameworks for continuous improvement; leads infrastructure modernization initiatives, including platform migrations and digital transformation projects.
  • Leads and mentors a high-performing IT infrastructure team, fostering technical excellence, open communication, and a problem-solving culture that drives innovation and growth.
  • Partners with the Infosec team to ensure plans and implementations conform to data protection policies and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Optimizes disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BCP) plans to minimize downtime and ensure operational resilience.
  • Develops and manages infrastructure budgets, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation.
  • Oversees vendor relationships, negotiating contracts and evaluating third-party service providers, cloud solutions, and data center operations.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance system integrations and optimize infrastructure.

Qualifications

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 7 years in leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of current IT infrastructure technologies, including cloud services, virtualization, and networking.
  • Experience with technologies such as Microsoft Azure, .NET, SQL Server, Web Services, and REST APIs.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience building and mentoring high-performing technical teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, project management, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in large, cross-functional teams influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders.
  • Strong working knowledge of information security standards, guidelines, and best practices.
